Nothing to print

Nothing to print. Your QR code is all you need.

Show it at a DHL Express Service Point or to the courier who comes to your door: DHL prints the label for you.

Tip: open it on the phone you’re keeping. Not the one in the box.

Three ways to send

Choose how to hand over your parcel

The same DHL Express shipment, whichever way suits you.

Nothing to print: the QR code

As soon as you accept the offer, DHL Express creates your shipment and we give you its official QR code: on the page, by email and in your customer account. Show it on your smartphone at a DHL Express Service Point: it is scanned, and the label is printed and stuck on your parcel.

Home pickup? The same QR code works: show it to the DHL Express courier.

Rather print: the PDF shipping label

Print the PDF shipping label, stick it flat on the parcel without folding it or covering the barcode, then drop the parcel off at a DHL Express Service Point.

Printed, the shipping label is accepted at even more DHL Express Service Points.

Home pickup

A DHL Express courier comes to your address on the day of your choice. Show them your QR code: they take care of the label.

How it works

From accepted offer to payment

  1. Accept your trade-in offer online
  2. Confirm the sender address and the battery condition
  3. Receive your DHL Express QR code, and the PDF shipping label if you’d rather print
  4. Prepare and pack your device
  5. Show your QR code at the DHL Express Service Point or to the courier
  6. We check the device, then we pay you

Safety

The battery comes first

Your device travels with its lithium-ion battery. These rules protect your parcel, the couriers and the DHL Express Service Points.

Lithium-ion battery: the DHL Express rules

Never send a device whose battery is swollen, damaged, faulty or overheating: shipping it is prohibited. Write to us and we will find a solution together.
  • Before the shipping label is created, you confirm that the battery is not swollen, damaged or faulty.
  • Switch the device off completely before packing it (not just on standby).
  • Leave the battery inside the device: never send a battery on its own.
  • Wedge the device so that it cannot move or switch on during transport.

Packing it properly

A sturdy box, the device protected on every side and no empty space: the DHL Express guide for electronic devices details every step.

Preparing your device

The steps before shipping

Accounts, protections, data, accessories and packing: tick off each step at your own pace.

Your preparation

Two rules before anything else

Swollen or damaged battery: do not send the device

A damaged lithium battery can overheat, smoke or even catch fire in transit. For everyone's safety, DHL Express does not allow it to be shipped.

Signs of an unsafe battery

  • The screen is lifting or coming away
  • The back is bulging and the device rocks when laid flat
  • The battery is punctured, cracked or leaking
  • The device gets unusually hot or gives off a strange smell

Not sure? Stop charging it, don't pack it, and message us: we'll find a solution together.

Turn off "Find My iPhone" (Apple) or "Find My Device" (Android)Otherwise the device stays locked to your account and we cannot buy it back.

Your preparation

Follow the steps in order and tick them off as you go.

In your Nomophone account

    • Declared conditionThe condition you stated (e.g. "Very good", "Good") must match the actual condition of the device.
    • Exact modelVerify the model (e.g. iPhone 14, Samsung Galaxy S23). An error may result in a counter-offer.
    • Storage capacityThe capacity stated (64 GB, 128 GB, etc.) must be correct.
    • Phone working or notCorrectly state whether the device powers on, responds, and whether the screen and essential functions work. A discrepancy may result in a counter-offer.

Any error or discrepancy with the device received may result in a counter-offer (a revised price, lower or higher). When in doubt, contact us.

    • Payment methodEnter the IBAN of the account you will be paid into by bank transfer. You can do this in your trade-in details.
    • Identity documentUpload a valid ID document (front or both sides). Required for legal compliance when selling second-hand devices.

In the parcel

    • General rule: include the original accessories, the ones that came in the boxCharger, cable, strap, charging case, controllers, battery, remote controller… There is no need, however, to send the box, manual, case or screen protector: their absence does not change the price.
    • Smartphone: send the phone on its ownThis is the only exception: keep the charger, cable, earphones and case, no accessory is required.
    • Essential accessories by deviceDon't add anything that wasn't in the box: a device sold without a power adapter is sent without one. A compatible model is fine if you no longer have the original. Without these accessories we cannot test the device, so the offer cannot be confirmed (revised offer, or device returned at your expense).
      • Tablet: charging cable, plus the power adapter only if one came in the box
      • Smartwatch: watch charger (cable or charging dock) and strap
      • Laptop: charging cable, plus the power adapter if one came in the box; for a desktop computer: power cable, plus the keyboard and mouse if they came in the box
      • Audio device: charging case (wireless earbuds)
      • Gaming console: supplied controller(s) and power cable; for a handheld console: charger, plus the dock if it was supplied
      • Camera: battery, plus the charger or charging cable that came in the box
      • VR headset: controllers and charging cable
      • Drone: remote controller, battery or batteries, plus the charger if one came in the box
    • SIM card and microSD memory card: remove and keep them
    1. Take high-definition photos of the device: front, back, sides, and if possible the IMEI number, before packing
    2. Sturdy packaging (thick cardboard, bubble wrap)
    3. Protection (bubble wrap or newspaper)
    4. DHL Express shipping label stuck on clearly, or QR code ready to show
    5. Note the tracking number

Final check before sealing the parcel: screen sitting flat, back not bulging, no unusual heat. If in any doubt, do not send the device.

Frequently asked questions

DHL Express shipping in brief

Is the QR code official?

Yes. DHL Express generates it for your shipment when the label is created. We never make QR codes ourselves.

What happens at the DHL Express Service Point?

The staff scan the QR code, print the label and stick it on your parcel. Keep the drop-off receipt until you are paid.

What if I choose home pickup?

Nothing to print there either: show your QR code to the DHL Express courier and they take care of the label. The PDF shipping label is still available if you’d rather stick it on yourself.

What if the point cannot print the label?

Choose a point shown by our search in “QR code” mode, or print the PDF shipping label: an already labelled parcel is accepted at DHL Express Service Points.

How long do I have to send my device?

15 days after accepting the offer. The deadline is shown in your customer account and in our emails.

How much does shipping cost?

Nothing: the DHL Express shipping label is prepaid by NomoPhone.
