How we test the phones we sell

Before a smartphone goes on our website, it follows a clear inspection path. We assign a cosmetic grade (Premium, Perfect condition, Very good condition or Good condition), set the battery option that reflects reality (Standard, New battery or +90%), and check that everyday functions behave as promised. We only publish a device when its description, photos and warranty information faithfully match the phone you will receive.

Cosmetic grades in plain language

We group appearance into four levels so offers are easy to compare. On the product page you will always see one of these four grades.

  • Premium — minimal signs of wear; the closest to like-new appearance within our refurbished range.
  • Perfect condition — excellent overall condition with only very light marks.
  • Very good condition — visible yet moderate wear; screen and housing remain in good day-to-day condition.
  • Good condition — more noticeable wear while staying fully functional and described honestly before sale.

Photos and short explanations show what each grade usually looks like. If you are unsure, customer support can help you choose.

Battery options explained simply

For each phone we state how the battery is presented. Three situations cover most cases:

  • Standard — original battery checked by our technicians; capacity and behaviour stay consistent with typical refurbished use.
  • New battery — the battery has been replaced so you benefit from strong, predictable battery life.
  • +90% — when the phone reports battery health, we highlight devices where this reading is at least about 90%, so you know the pack still has plenty of life ahead.
Battery behaviour in real life

We do not rely on a single on-screen percentage. Charging behaviour, stability during everyday-style use and unexpected shutdowns are all considered so the battery option shown on the site stays trustworthy.

Cameras and photo quality

Front and rear cameras are tested with photos and short clips (focus, colours, flash where relevant). What we accept depends on the grade: a Premium phone should not show defects that contradict how it is presented.

Main checks we perform

Each device is reviewed against what matters in daily use. Here is what we look at systematically before shipping:

  • Charging and port — reliable connection and normal charging.
  • Housing — matches the stated grade (no undisclosed heavy damage).
  • Face ID, Touch ID or equivalent — enrolment and unlocking when the model supports it.
  • Cameras — every advertised lens produces usable photos and video.
  • Microphones — clear sound in video and voice memos.
  • Speakers — listening quality at everyday volume.
  • Calls — clear earpiece and speakerphone when we can run a safe test.
  • Proximity sensor — screen behaves normally during a call.
  • Main speaker — clean sound without abnormal distortion.
  • Earpiece — voices audible on calls.
  • Vibration — noticeable feedback.
  • Physical buttons — volume, power/side button and mute switch (if fitted) work properly.
  • Touchscreen — accurate response across the surface.
  • Display — no visible flaw that conflicts with the advertised grade.
Extra checks when needed

After certain repairs or part replacements we may add performance checks (processor, graphics, storage) to ensure the phone behaves like a sound handset before it goes back on sale.

  • Stable performance during everyday use.
  • Graphics keep up with usual games and videos.
  • Storage responsiveness when the model should feel fast.
What you see matches what we prepare

The information on our product pages (grade, battery option, main characteristics) lines up with the physical phone prepared for you. If something differs after delivery, our commercial and legal guarantees apply.

How long preparation takes

Preparation can take from well under an hour to several hours depending on updates, calibration or extra checks. Complex cases may take longer; we prioritise reliability over speed.

Warranty and putting things right

If a problem does not match what was published, we resolve it under our commercial guarantee and applicable consumer rules — repair, replacement or refund depending on the situation and availability.
